Your first appointment is all about understanding your needs and beginning the journey of designing a prosthetic or orthotic device that supports your goals.
We’ll begin with a conversation about your medical history, current condition, daily activities, and personal goals, followed by a physical and biomechanical assessment. This may include testing muscle strength, joint range of motion, gait analysis, taking limb or body measurements, and observations of posture, balance, or movement patterns.
We also take the time to answer any questions you have and discuss possible treatment pathways and next steps. If a custom device is needed, we may also begin the assessment process during this appointment - such as casting, scanning, or taking measurements - depending on your readiness and funding status.
Our goal is to make sure you leave feeling informed, involved, and confident about what comes next.

We work with a number of funding bodies, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), National Injury Insurance Scheme, Queensland (NIISQ), Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS), WorkCover and private health funds.
Navigating funding pathways can be complex, but we’re here to make it easier. We can assist you with funding applications, provide detailed quotes for your device or service, and help ensure all the necessary documentation is in place. We’ll work with you to help streamline the process and advocate for the support you need.

The timeframe for receiving your orthotic or prosthetic device can vary based on several factors, including the complexity of the device, your individual clinical needs, and whether funding approval is required.
We understand how important your device is to your comfort, independence, and daily life. That’s why we keep you informed at every stage - from your initial consultation through to fitting and final delivery - and work to ensure everything progresses as efficiently as possible.
